Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton are more alike than people might think.

Although the two are reportedly at odds, the Duchess of Sussex and the Princess of Wales share many of the same interests and hobbies including one for which Kate is particularly well known.

Meghan takes a friend's maternity photo

Meghan's friend Kelly McKee took to Instagram to share a photo of herself cradling her baby bump in what appears to be the Suits star's garden at her home in Montecito, Calif.

McKee gave Meghan credit for snapping the shot, tagging her Instagram handle in the caption alongside a camera emoji.

Many people in the comments section applauded the Netflix star's photography skills.

Kate also gets behind the camera

Kate, meanwhile, has been behind some of the most iconic images of her children with Prince William: Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. She often snaps their official birthday portraits for The Firm.

Some of her photos were even featured in an exhibition at Kensington Palace titled "Life Through a Royal Lens."

While studying at University of St. Andrews, the mother of three reportedly wrote a dissertation on Lewis Carroll's photos of children.

What do Meghan and Kate think of each other?

In the 2022 Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, the actress recalled her awkward first meeting with her future sister-in-law.

"I met [Kate] for the first time, I think we went for dinner. I remember I was in ripped jeans and barefoot," the mother of two said. "I was a hugger — I've always been a hugger. I didn't realize that that was jarring for a lot of Brits."

"I started to understand that the formality on the outside carried through on the inside, that there is a forward-facing way of being and then you close the door … [and] 'I can relax now,'" she continued. "But that formality carries over on both sides, and that was surprising to me."

Harry recalls an awkward moment

Prince Harry recounted a tension-filled moment between his wife and Kate during an official event.

"Kate asked Meg what she thought of her first Trooping the Colour," he wrote in his 2023 memoir Spare, adding that "Meg joked, 'colorful.'"

"However, instead of eliciting a chuckle, a large silence instead emerged. And a yawning silence threatened to swallow us all whole," recalled Harry, who left The Firm and moved to America with Meghan in 2020.

Prince William and Prince Harry are gearing up for an awkward reunion in 2026.

According to The Sun, Harry and William are both expected to attend the 2026 World Cup in Los Angeles.

"Wills is planning to come to the U.S., and we have been told to prepare for what a trip would entail," a source told The Sun. "Interactions between security services and U.K./U.S. intelligence teams are in progress."

William and Harry's relationship unraveled after the duke publicly attacked the future king and the royal family in his various tell-all projects. After years of Harry publicly complaining about living in William's shadow, the siblings' bond remains fractured.

"At this point, Harry's resentment towards William seems less about the Sussexes' actual exit in 2020 and more about what came after: the silence, the distance and the sense that the family iced them out because they dared to speak up," royal commentator Amanda Matta told Fox News Digital.

"There simply has to be frustration that the family won't engage in good faith with the points that Harry has raised, even though he's done so publicly," Matta added.

Since leaving the U.K., Harry has settled into life in Montecito, while William is in England, focused on the monarchy.

"Currently, and for the foreseeable future, the relationship between Prince Harry and Prince William remains deeply fractured, with really no sign of any reconciliation," British royals expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News Digital.

"Their lives and priorities have diverged dramatically since Harry decided to depart from royal duties. Harry is still harboring lingering resentment toward William, as evident in his comments," Fordwich continued. "He has whined about both the estrangement and his sense of being unsupported, particularly regarding issues like security."

Behind the scenes, sources hinted at William feeling the duke's absence.

"Harry left a large gap in William's world, not just personally but practically," a source told Us Weekly. "The whole idea was for Harry to work hand-in-hand with William and to divide and conquer during William's monarchy. So Harry not being there is tough. [William] feels deserted by his brother – not that he would ever say that out loud."

Despite years of tension, Harry insists he wants to make peace with his relatives.

"There have been so many disagreements between myself and some of my family," Harry told the BBC.

"I would love reconciliation with my family. There's no point continuing to fight anymore. Life is precious," the duke added.

Meghan Markle struggled to adjust to royal life despite Prince Harry's attempts to prepare her for it.

"I tried to warn you as much as possible, but I think both of us were totally surprised by the reaction after the first five, six months, which we had to ourselves [and] what actually happened from then," Harry said in the couple's engagement interview.

Harry shared they were "totally unprepared" for the public curiosity surrounding their relationship.

"I've never been part of tabloid culture. I've never been in pop culture to that degree and lived [a] relatively quiet life, even though I focused so much on my job," Meghan, who was a working actress at the time, admitted.

Years after the Sussexes' engagement interview, the pair left the U.K. In their explosive tell-all interview, the duo implied that the British press' coverage of Meghan prompted their decision to step down from their roles. Most importantly, Meghan admitted that she was fearful for Prince Archie's safety, as the youngster wasn't born with security privileges.

"We haven't created this monster machine around us in terms of clickbait and tabloid fodder. You've allowed that to happen, which means our son needs to be safe," Meghan told Oprah Winfrey during their CBS interview.

"We're talking about the U.K. press here, right? And this … the U.K. is my home. That is where I was brought up," Harry said. "So yes, I've got my own relationship that goes back a long way with the media. I asked for calm from the British tabloids — once as a boyfriend, once as a husband and once as a father."

Meghan later alluded to the royal family enabling the tabloids to publish negative stories about her.

"I think there's a reason that these tabloids have holiday parties at the Palace. They're hosted by the Palace, the tabloids are. You know, there is a construct that's at play there," Meghan explained. "And because from the beginning of our relationship, they were so attacking and inciting so much racism, really, it changed our . . . the risk level, because it went . . . it wasn't just catty gossip."

"It was bringing out a part of people that was racist in how it was charged," she continued. "And that changed the threat. That changed the level of death threats. That changed everything."

Meghan Markle's wardrobe transformed when she married Prince Harry, but experts claim Queen Elizabeth II disapproved of the expensive makeover.

"She also took a call from Harry and then reportedly remarked: 'more money' rolling her eyes," associate editor Camilla Tominey told The Telegraph, insinuating that the prince asked his grandmother to cover the cost of his wife's clothes.

Royal journalist Robert Jobson claimed the Sussexes accumulated significant expenses during their time as working royals.

"I think the point was they had spent a lot of money, they had supported Harry … he was then saying later, 'I never got any.' He did, he got many, many, many thousands of pounds," Jobson alleged. "More than we can probably know to the point the King said, 'I'm not a bank anymore' … so that's quite telling."

"The Queen thought Meghan was spending too much on clothes," Jobson continued. "She did. But some people might criticize that, as in the 1940s and 1950s, when she was being dressed for these tours. There was a lot of money being spent on royal tours."

Jobson later pointed out how Meghan sported a designer dress while visiting Morocco with Harry.

"But maybe not £60,000 [$80,000 USD] on one Dior gown she wore during the 2019 Morocco tour?" Tominey asked.

"That was seen as over the top … not sending the right message," Jobson replied. "The Queen, at the end, was always about the right message. Throughout her life, she got it exactly right."

Despite her public complaints about royal life, Meghan gushed over her relationship with the monarch in her explosive CBS interview with Oprah Winfrey.

"I've loved being in her company. She's always been warm, welcoming, and inviting," Meghan said.

The duchess also reflected on Her Majesty's legacy while promoting her defunct podcast, "Archetypes."

"There's been such an outpouring of love and support. I'm really grateful that I was able to be with my husband to support him, especially during that time," Meghan told Variety. "What's so beautiful is to look at the legacy that his grandmother was able to leave on so many fronts."

"Certainly, in terms of female leadership, she is the most shining example of what that looks like," she added. "I feel deep gratitude to have been able to spend time with her and get to know her."

Prince William is ready to overhaul the monarchy.

One expert believes the future king of England, who's preparing to take over from King Charles III, will do away with a particular royal custom once he's in charge.

William could end curtseying

According to journalist David Dimbleby, the Prince of Wales will likely end the tradition of bowing and curtseying before high-ranking members of the royal family. The action is seen as a sign of respect for a person of a superior social or political rank.

"I don't understand why people, particularly with late Queen Elizabeth II, were so flummoxed when they met her," Dimbleby said in the three-part BBC documentary What's the Monarchy For?

"Men curtseying, people forgetting what to say and all that. I don't like the obsequiousness. I don't like that at all. Incidentally, a view which I think William shares, from what I hear," Dimbleby continued.

"The bowing and scraping element is quite out of date and ridiculous and the pomposity of the court, which still exists a bit, is absurd," he added.

Do citizens support the monarchy?

Many British citizens criticize the monarchy for being ostentatious while lacking the power to make legislative changes.

"I'm pro-monarchy if it suits the spirit of the times. I'm not pro-flamboyant monarchy of the Disneyland type," Dimbleby told The Telegraph. "I'm not pro the argument that it brings in American tourists, that's one of the worst arguments of all."

"There is a 'growing tide' of people, particularly young people, who are no longer in favor of a monarchy," he continued. "I don't think we're going to be a republic any time soon, but I'm not saying that I think a republic would be worse than a monarchy. I think if it could be devised in a way that was acceptable, it might be as good."

Meghan's curtseying learning curve

Prince Harry emphasized in his 2023 memoir Spare that curtseying to his late grandmother was so vital, Sarah Ferguson stepped in to teach his future wife, Meghan Markle, how to do it before she first met Elizabeth.

"Fergie came out, a little emotional and asked, 'Can you curtsy?' Meg shook her head. Fergie then demonstrated and Meg imitated her," he recalled.

Change for the monarchy

William and his father are already trying to enact change within The Firm. Charles made the significant step of stripping Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor of his royal titles and evicting him from Royal Lodge over his ties to the late Jeffrey Epstein.

The 77-year-old also reportedly wants non-working members of the royal family to become financially independent with their living arrangements.

"The king isn't running a housing association for distant relatives," a source told Daily Express.

The 43-year-old, meanwhile, will buck tradition by residing with his family at Forest Lodge in Windsor instead of at Buckingham Palace in London.

Additionally, William will reportedly focus more on philanthropic projects and be more vocal about social issues.

William makes a promise

William publicly vowed to shake up the monarchy when he ascends the throne.

"I think it's safe to say that change is on my agenda. Change for good," the father of three said on an episode of The Reluctant Traveler With Eugene Levy.

"I embrace that and I enjoy that change. I don't fear it. That's the bit that excites me, the idea of being able to bring some change. Not overly radical change, but changes that I think that need to happen," he added.

Meghan Markle earned a new nickname on social media.

In a clip, the duchess was seen seasoning a turkey for Thanksgiving, but critics noticed that she touched the raw bird before reaching for more items.

"So gross, and it's basic food handling knowledge. Proof she has no idea what she's doing," one person wrote on X.

"I don't know anyone who wears their rings and bracelets when handling food, especially a turkey. Guaranteed spread of bacteria," another wrote.

"Then she picks up the pepper grinder without washing her hands. Another Salmonella Sussex disaster," a third shared.

Despite the criticism, Meghan wrote a heartfelt email to As Ever customers in honor of the holiday.

"From my family to yours, wishing you a very Happy Thanksgiving," Meghan wrote. "I am so thankful for your support and warmth as we've grown As ever throughout the year, and the way in which you've invited this collection to be a part of your home."

"Being able to play a small role in your memories, family moments, special celebrations, and daily routines is not lost on me – from the jam you layer onto morning toast or slather onto PB&J for your kids' lunchboxes; the honey you stir into your tea; the candle you light to welcome the day or close it out with a cozy bath; the bottle of bubbles you pop to celebrate or the wine you sip as you toast your loved ones — you've invited us in," she continued.

Since launching As Ever, Meghan has been promoting her fruit preserves and her recipes through her Netflix series With Love, Meghan.

Sarah Ferguson could come to the U.S. to rebuild her image after her ties to Jeffrey Epstein greatly damaged her reputation.

"I think there would be enough curious people not just here but around the world, and she always had a lot of fans in the United States," royal editor Richard Kay said on "Palace Confidential."

"We used to call her the Duchess of New York because of the amount of time she spent on the East Coast, and they were very forgiving," Kay continued. "They gave her the opportunity, it was there that she became an ambassador [for] WeightWatchers, and it's where she, sort of, on previous occasions, got her life back together again, but I feel this time it's too late and too much has happened."

Ferguson and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor were kicked out of Royal Lodge due to the ex-duke's ties to Epstein.

On top of losing her royal estate, charities and brands distanced themselves from Ferguson after it was revealed she called Epstein a "supreme friend." Now, the former duchess has to find a source of income to sustain her lavish lifestyle.

Ferguson has been avoiding the spotlight, but there have been rumors that she is considering writing a memoir. However, journalist Samara Gill believes it would be inappropriate for Ferguson to publish a tell-all.

"I think it's not right that she is going to speak out, but I think she will. Should she? I mean, she needs the money, she needs the cash, it's as simple as that," Gill said. "This is the scenario that I worried about the most for the royal family because both her and Andrew have absolutely nothing to lose at this point."

"Who knows whose dirty laundry they will then air out? I don't know think it'll be their own, but think that because of the big amounts of money, you know, I mean six-figure sums that are being thrown around for this interview, who knows who she'll talk about?" she continued.

Over the years, Ferguson has been loyal to her ex-husband and the royal family, but she could turn on them.

"Because she probably won't brief about Andrew, she probably won't even really talk about herself unless it's about her struggle, she might talk about other royal family members and throw them under the bus, and that's what I'm worried about," Gill said.

Before the couple married and had two children, Harry recalled being at Nottingham Cottage when he first saw the actress in a social media post shared by their mutual friend Violet von Westenholz.

"I was sitting around Nott Cott, scrolling through Instagram. They [Meghan and von Westenholz] were playing with a new app that put silly filters on your photos," he wrote in the tell-all about the clip.

"Violet and the woman had dog ears, dog noses, long red dog tongues hanging out. This woman with Violet…my god. I watched the video several times, then forced myself to put the phone down," Harry continued. "Then I picked it up, watched the video again. For thirty-two years, I'd watched a conveyor belt of faces pass by and only a handful ever made me look twice. This woman stopped the conveyor belt. This woman smashed the conveyor belt to pieces."

Harry details Meghan's 'energy'

The father of two went into great detail about the overwhelming feelings he experienced. "I'd never seen anyone so beautiful. There was an energy about her, a wild joy and playfulness," he gushed.

"There was something in the way she smiled, the way she gazed into the camera. Confident. Free. She believed life was one grand adventure, I could see that," Harry continued. "What a privilege it would be, I thought, to join her on that journey. I got all that from her face. Her luminous, angelic face."

Harry and Meghan's first date

Harry and Meghan had their first date at the Soho House in Los Angeles, Calif., in 2016. However, the two didn't go public with their romance until later that year.

"Red-cheeked, puffing, sweaty, half an hour late, I ran into the restaurant, into the quiet room and found her sitting at a small area on a low velvet sofa in front of a low coffee table," the 41-year-old wrote in the book about their initial romantic outing.

"She was wearing a black sweater, jeans, heels. I knew nothing about clothes, but I knew she was chic. Then again, she could make anything look chic," he said. "I'd seen so many photos of her from fashion shoots and TV sets, all glam and glossy, but here she was, in the flesh, no frills, no filter and even more beautiful. Heart-attack beautiful. I was trying to process this, struggling to understand what was happening to my circulatory and nervous systems and as a result, my brain couldn't handle any more data."

Happily ever after?

Harry and Meghan got engaged in November 2017 and wed in May 2018 at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle.

The pair welcomed their son, Prince Archie, in May 2019 and their daughter, Princess Lilibet, in June 2021.

While they began their union as working members of the royal family, the duo left The Firm in 2020 to live in America.
