With just weeks to go before they welcome their first child together, Jana Kramer and her fiancé, Scottish soccer coach Allan Russell, decided to head off to the Sunshine State for a lavish "babymoon."
There, the duo planned to relax and enjoy each other's company before their little one's anticipated arrival in November.
Instead, Jana ended up hospitalized — but both she and the baby are now fine.
On Oct. 15, the former "One Tree Hill" star-turned-country music singer posted about her health situation, the unexpected hiccups that came with the vacation and the lessons she's learned.

Jana Kramer was in pain before heading out on her babymoon in mid-October, but everything came to a head once the Tennessee resident arrived in Florida.
"Well. Our babymoon didn't go as planned but there were some lessons learned," Jana wrote on Instagram. "The back pain I've been dealing with for weeks wasn't just back pain. Lesson number one… don't just brush off pain, because it can be more serious than u think."
The country singer had previously told her Instagram followers that she was suffering from back pain a few weeks earlier, but she thought it was just a symptom of her pregnancy.

After her post, one of Jana Kramer's fans cautioned her to not dismiss her back pain so easily, noting it could be a problem with her kidneys.
Still, Jana boarded the plane to Florida, as she didn't want to "ruin" the babymoon that she and her fiancé were looking forward to.
"When we landed I just couldn't handle the pain anymore and I started to feel even more sick so we went to the hospital. Long story short it was a bad bacterial infection that got into the kidneys," she explained. "This resulted in a 2-day stay in hospital and antibiotics because I let it get [past] where I should have."

Amid her hospitalization, Jana Kramer is now urging her followers — especially her pregnant followers — to listen to their bodies. Health is not an "inconvenience," she insisted.
"If u hurt, talk to ur doctor. Leaving things for too long or not taking care of yourself when ur not feeling good can become very serious," the "I Got The Boy" singer wrote.
Jana further praised her fiancé, Allan Russell, for eschewing their fancy hotel bed and instead staying by her side at Florida's Good Samaritan Hospital.
"Find u a man who doesn't make u feel bad or leave ur side when ur not feeling good," Jana gushed.

Jana Kramer announced in June that she and Allan Russell were expecting a child — their first together.
She's also a mom to daughter Jolie, 7, and son Jace, 4, with ex-husband Mike Caussin. Allan is a father to a teenage son, Troy, from a previous relationship.
The country music singer recently told People magazine that this pregnancy has been more difficult than the others.
"Obviously it's been a little bit harder. I'm just a little older and this is my third kid," she said. "Things are a little different now, but it's great. I'm just so blessed. I didn't think this would be possible, so it's a beautiful, beautiful thing."
