Way to make news, Anderson!

At Elton John's AIDS Foundation's 14th Annual An Enduring Vision Benefit, Anderson Cooper walked the carpet holding hands with his partner, Ben Maisani.

While the two have been together for about six years, they rarely make public appearances together.

Ben, a nightclub/businessman in New York City, has never felt comfortable being in the public eye. "Like most people, I never really thought about it, and I never wanted to be a celebrity," he told French Morning last year. "I knew I'd have to be careful right from the start before it had a chance to get out of hand."

Even though he's a public figure, Anderson Cooper has also remained pretty mum on his personal life. That is, except for his very personal essay with the Daily Beast. "The fact is, I'm gay, always have been, always will be, and I couldn't be any more happy, comfortable with myself and proud," Anderson penned in his 2012 column.

Despite their private nature, both Ben and Anderson looked happy to be together out to support a great cause in New York City.
