Troubled actor Nicholas Brendan, who is best known for his role of wise-cracking Xander on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," has just confirmed yet another slip in his sobriety.

The actor admitted in a statement that he'd fallen off the wagon yet again after he was reportedly spotted at a hotel bar at the Comic-Con convention in Des Moines, Iowa.

Nicholas said in a statement, "This is completely true. I was feeling down, went to the hotel bar and ordered a few beers. I'm in the public eye, but I'm just like any person working the program."

The recovering alcoholic added, "It's minute by minute, day by day, and I've unfortunately stumbled."

The actor, who starred in the vampire dramedy from 1997 to 2003, also added, "I'm very happy to say that nothing like the events of last year have occurred, and I am committed to making sure that they never do again."

The "events of last year" that he is referring to are various headline-making incidents, including being arrested and accused of choking his girlfriend during a fight in their hotel room in Saratoga Springs, New York on Sept. 30, 2016.

The Albany Times Union reported at the time that authorities said that the 45-year-old actor grabbed his girlfriend by the throat, took her keys and threw her phone during a dispute.

On Dec. 4, 2015, the actor pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief. At the time, prosecutors said that the "Criminal Minds" actor, who has been arrested six times, will not serve jail time if he can complete drug and alcohol counseling and can stay out of trouble for one year.

However, if he's drinking again there's certainly a cause for concern that he will be able to stay out of jail given his previous record.

Let's hope he can get it together -- because it seems as though there are some good things in the actor's future. Nicholas is slated to appear in "The Inspector Chronicles," a spoof on "Dr Who" and an upcoming heist movie, "Snatched." He's also supposed to appear at a number of fan conventions this year. Hopefully, he can stay out of the bars while he's on the convention circuit.

One day at a time, Brendon ... Buffy and the gang are rootin' for ya!
