Less than 24 hours after Kanye West's late night tweetstorm, a good friend jumped on a plane and traveled halfway across the country to visit him.
That friend was Dave Chappelle.
On Tuesday afternoon, the rapper posted a video with Dave and other friends from his ranch in Wyoming.
"THANK YOU DAVE FOR HOPPING ON A JET TO COME SEE ME DOING WELL," Kanye wrote alongside the video. "DAVE YOU ARE A GOD SEND AND A TRUE FRIEND ALL LOVE."
In the video, Kanye asks Dave, who lives in Ohio, to crack a joke. After Dave struggles to come up with an on-the-spot joke, Kanye encourages him to say something to "uplift our spirits."
"An uplifting joke?" Dave asks. "Now you know I don't write those."
Dave's spontaneous visit comes after Kanye spent much of the evening on Twitter shading his mother-in-law, Kris Jenner, and claiming his wife, Kim Kardashian West, was trying to get him involuntarily committed to a mental hospital.
Many of his tweets have since been deleted.
The late-night tweeting occurred just two days after Kanye held a rally in South Carolina to boost support for his long-shot bid for president. The rally was widely viewed as a disaster and prompted rumors Kim might want a divorce.
