After Caitlyn Jenner transitioned from male-to-female, another reality TV star was closely watching and wondering if he should do the same.
"Rich Kids of Beverly Hills" star EJ Johnson said he pondered the idea, but ultimately ruled against it.
In a clip from his docuseries "EJNYC," the sometime feminine-dressing EJ said, "I've always been very fashion-forward. I've always definitely mixed men's and women's fashion in my life, but I never thought that it would raise so many questions about my own gender. I never really thought it was under investigation."
He continued, "Sometimes it's hard being in the middle, kind of in the gray area in my own lane. Now, since everybody's talking about Caitlyn Jenner and being transgender, people are so quick to say, 'Oh, just because you're dressing like that means that you're going to transition to become a woman.'"
"I thought about [transitioning], for sure," the son of NBA legend Magic Johnson told the therapist in the clip. "I was just like, 'Well, do I want to transition? Is this something that I would do?' But I don't feel incomplete in that way. I don't feel the need to do that.
"I'm interested to talk about what it means to actually transition. Like, if you're going to take that leap or that step, what's going on mentally that's telling you, 'This is what I need to do?' Because I don't feel that way."
One thing he did do to feel complete, though, was lose an amazing amount of weight last year. In May 2015, a slim-looking EJ told Wendy Williams that he lost over 100 pounds by undergoing weight loss surgery.
He's now living life the way he wants to live it, and his fashion sense is even being compared to female fashionistas.
"I think it's an honor," he said of the comparisons. "I wouldn't want to be compared to some random man who's wearing a tuxedo and I'm wearing a lace jumpsuit -- like, it just doesn't make any sense."
