Faith Hill felt some real growing pains in taking on her Margaret Dutton character in "1883."
The Grammy winner revealed in a chat with Courteney Cox that she had to stop shaving her armpits to make the character more believable with the time period of the Paramount series.

In recalling the request, Faith said she was at a wedding with her husband, Tim McGraw, when series creator Taylor Sheridan called.
"Taylor actually called my husband," Faith said during a Variety Actors on Actors discussion. "We were at a wedding, our nephew's wedding, and he [Taylor] said, 'Who's gonna be the one to tell your wife that she has to stop shaving under her arms?'"
Considering the setting, Faith wondered if the armpit conversation could wait, but Taylor was adamant that there was no time to waste and she needed to stop shaving from that point on.

Still, in a last ditch effort, the "This Kiss" singer noted that several men had their beards glued on. She wondered if that was an option with underarm hair. It was not.
"It really grossed me out, I have to say," Faith said, but added that she supports women who want to live life unshaven. "All due respect to those who love that, and all that freedom, woo! But for me, personally, I just don't like it."
The "Friends" star said she could never fulfill that kind of request because she's had her armpit hair removed by laser.
"I don't laser," Faith responded, "but I may now, so I never have to do that again."
