"Harry Potter" fans were lighting up social media over the weekend after an embarrassing case of mistaken identity.
On Jan. 1, HBO Max released its highly anticipated reunion, "Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts." At the beginning of the special, producers flashed a childhood picture of Emma Watson on the screen… or so they thought. The photo was actually a childhood image of Emma Roberts, who has no connection with the wizardly franchise whatsoever.
Face. Palm.
"GUYS HELP ME THATS LITERALLY EMMA ROBERTS NOT EMMA WATSON," one person captioned a screenshot of the snafu. That post has since gone viral.
Amid the mix up, fans jokingly began congratulating Emma Roberts on her role in "Harry Potter," which she didn't have.
As fans buzzed, produces acknowledged the mistake, telling E! News, "Well spotted Harry Potter fans! You brought an editing mistake of a mislabeled photograph to our attention. New version is up now."

Neither actress has commented on the snafu.
Other than that, fans seemed thrilled with the reunion. The cast, too, seemed emotional to be back together at times.
"It's a strong bond that we will always have," Rupert Grint told Emma (Watson) during the special.
