It may be over for Mariah Carey and her Australian billionaire fiance, James Packer, at least for now. Multiple media outlets are reporting that the two have called it quits. First up is Australian gossip tab Woman's Day.

A "family friend" cites Mimi's apparently boundless propensity for spending as a reason for the breakup, adding that Packer wasn't exactly psyched about the lack of privacy suddenly thrust upon him courtesy of the cameras that have been trailing them for "Mariah's World."

"James had huge reservations about Mariah's new reality TV show and the fact that she was willing to expose their lives to the world," the source is quoted as saying.

Echoes TMZ, "James hated the reality show from the get-go, and it became a major source of conflict."

Insiders tell TMZ the couple's problems were filmed during the taping of the series and that the last straw for James came "when [Mariah] had some sort of rendezvous with one of the dancers in her Vegas show." According to TMZ, the "rendezvous" and/or the fallout between Mariah and James that followed were caught on tape.

Woman's Day, meanwhile, seems to think the last straw in their troubled relationship came when Mariah "refused to come to Australia for [James' sister's] birthday party," according to a source, who added that the move "created a lot of tension in the family," particularly with regard to James' mother, who is said to have "hated to even hear [Mariah's] name mentioned."

Finally, the insider claims "James' tight circle of friends never really thought they would marry."

Woman's Day -- the same publication Chris Hemsworth slammed on Instagram a few days ago for erroneously reporting he'd split from Elsa Pataky -- reports Mariah canceled the South American portion of her tour because of relationship problems, rather than the "promoter negligence" she cited when making the announcement.

The tab implies when the singer donned a costume with her ex, Nick Cannon, and their kids, for her Halloween party on Oct. 22, she may have been looking for support amid the split.

However, the bust-up may not be final.

"They are not together right now. They split a couple of weeks ago," a Packer source tells People. "It's possible they will get back together. They are still talking, but James needed a break."

Either way, Mariah will reportedly keep the $10 million engagement ring James gave her at the beginning of the year -- a point in the story that's either proof of James' largesse ("James is very generous, but Mariah takes it to the next level," sniffed one Woman's Day source) or a handy way for Woman's Day to cover its booty should Mariah continue to make public appearances while wearing the sparkler.

The Woman's Day report comes just one month after Radar made similar split claims, saying Mariah and James' recent trip to Mykonos was a last-ditch attempt to save the relationship, which they were said to have been "struggling" with in September. The website pointed to both Mariah's show and her dragged-out divorce from Nick Cannon as being major problems for James.

Mariah and James began dating in 2015 and got engaged in New York on Jan. 21, when the Crown Resorts Executive Chairman slipped the aforementioned 35 carat ring on Mariah's finger.

The singer hasn't divulged much about what draws her to James. Last fall when she moved in with him, Mariah told ET simply, "It's fun, I'm not gonna lie."
