"American Idol" already has Katy Perry locked and loaded to be a judge, and it look like it wants to go even younger to fill out the panel.
According to TMZ, "Idol" is eyeing 25-year-old Charlie Puth to fill one of the seats. "Idol," which is switching from Fox to ABC, already reportedly wants Lionel Richie badly, as well.

Show and network executives will apparently meet this week to finalize their choices and make official offers, the website said.
While Lionel and Charlie seem to be the frontrunners, execs are also keeping close tabs on country superstar Luke Bryan as a possible judge. "He impressed producers in early discussions," the site said. And, if that doesn't work out, "Idol" vet Keith Urban's name has supposedly been thrown around.
Last month, it was reported that Motley Crue rocker Nikki Sixx was on the show's judging wish list.

Whoever ends up on the panel will join Katy, who is reportedly getting paid $25 million.
On June 25, there were reports that "Idol" executives had met with Lionel about joining the panel, and they were blown away by the singing legend. TMZ said they liked his "vibe" and view him as a "nice judge."

It's all but a given that whoever is picked will make considerably less than Katy. Even Ryan Seacrest is reportedly making significantly less than Katy to host the show.
Fittingly, the judging panel has become a game of musical chairs.
