Jason Alexander played his villainous role on "Pretty Woman" so well that people initially had trouble separating the man from the character.

While speaking to Robin Bronk on the "At Home with the Creative Coalition" podcast, Jason said playing attorney Philip Stuckey in the film certainly helped propel his career, but added, "It was an odd way to meet a national audience because I was known around the world as the a–hole that tried to rape Julia Roberts."
"Women hated me. I would walk down the street and women would say mean things to me," Jason said on podcast, according to Page Six. "I got punched many times, I got spit on by one woman. It was a rough year."

There's no argument that Jason played the role perfectly. However, he was hardly a shoo-in to be cast in the film, which turned 30 this year. In fact, he recalled director Garry Marshall not wanting him for the part, believing he was "too young" and "too baby-faced." Jason claims to have only gotten the part because producers "couldn't make a deal with the actor they wanted and they were desperate. The movie already started shooting and they didn't have this character."
Jason, of course, would go on to be more known for his role as George Costanza on "Seinfeld." To this day, people have trouble separating Jason from that character, too. Sound familiar?
