Reality star Jessa Duggar and husband Ben Seewald couldn't be happier this Thanksgiving now that they have a little bundle of love by their side. The new parents appear to be loving their new roles as mom and dad to their newborn son, Spurgeon Elliot.
On Nov. 26, the couple wrote on their blog, "This Thanksgiving, one of the things we are grateful for is our precious son, Spurgeon Elliot." They also said, "We are so happy to be parents! As we are embarking on this journey of parenthood, we appreciate all of your prayers."
Jessa also posted the sweet snap of her husband holding baby Spurgeon on Nov. 27. The 23-year-old mom posted a note, thanking her husband since 2014, writing, "I'm so thankful to God for giving me you, Babe! You're a gem! I'm so grateful to be married to such a sweet, godly man! These past three weeks have been so precious to me as I have watched you love and care for our son."
The grateful new mom continued, "From his middle of the night diaper changes to his sweet cuddle times with daddy, it melts my heart to see the interaction between you two! You're such a good daddy! I can't even begin to put into words how much you mean to me! I'm so happy you're mine. I feel like the most blessed girl on earth!"
Jesse gave birth on Nov. 5, and a week later the couple made a video which explained their reason behind choosing the name Spurgeon for their son, whose nickname is "Quincy."
Ben explained in the video, "Charles Spurgeon was a preacher who lived back in the 19th century and had a big impact on our lives." They added, "Elliot, that was the last name of Jim Elliot and Elizabeth Elliot, and Jim Elliot was a missionary."
In the video, the duo also said, "His nickname has been Quincy since we first found out we were pregnant."
Well that explains it!
