#TeamJohnny or #TeamAmber?

As Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's divorce drama escalates amid her claims that she's a victim of domestic abuse at his hands, their famous friends are taking sides.

TMZ reports that Johnny's first wife, Lori Anne Allison -- they were married from 1983 to 1985 -- has told friends she doesn't believe Amber's allegations that Johnny got physical with her multiple times while "inebriated and high," as Amber wrote in court papers, during their 15-month marriage.

Lori -- who spoke to her ex last week to offer her condolences following his mother's death -- reportedly believes Johnny would never lay his hands on a woman and isn't capable of that kind of brutality. She described him to friends as a "soft person" who is even kind to animals.

Mickey Rourke also defended Johnny -- whose attorney has denied Amber's charges. "He doesn't seem like a very violent man to me," Mickey, who co-starred with Johnny in 2003's "Once Upon a Time in Mexico," told TMZ. "He's a very low-key guy. He's always been really low-key and a gentleman, not a violent guy."

Paul Bettany -- who's co-starred in three movies with Johnny -- also spoke up for the "Alice Through the Looking Glass" star. "Known Johnny Depp for years and through several relationships. He's the sweetest, kindest, gentlest man that I've ever known. Just saying," Paul tweeted on May 28.

"All I'm saying," Paul added in another tweet, "[Is that] domestic violence is a serious allegation. Trial by twitter is unhelpful. Let the facts come out before rushing to judgment."

After Amber, 30 -- who was granted a temporary restraining order against her estranged husband, 52 -- alleged that he'd physically assault her when he hurled an iPhone at her face during an arguement, the #IStandWithAmber and #ImWithAmber hashtags began trending on Twitter, with many fans threatening to boycott Johnny's latest film, "Alice Through the Looking Glass," which was released on May 27.

On May 28, comedian Andy Richter took to Twitter to seemingly comment on the headlines, without naming names.

"One of the things you can pay a publicist to do is to make your ex look bad in the press after you've been accused of abuse," Andy wrote, adding, "Some publicists even specialize in such things." He then re-tweeted a post from another user that was supportive of Amber.

Johnny is currently in Europe with his band the Hollywood Vampires, while Amber is believed to be in Los Angeles following her Friday court appearance to request the TRO, where a bruise was clearly visible on her face.
