Justin Bieber is facing a round of harsh criticism for his new hairstyle.

The singer hit the stage at the 2016 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Sunday, April 3 to perform his hits "Love Yourself" and "Company," but some fans were more focused on the pop star's blond dreadlocks. Although he officially debuted the look on his Instagram account days before, this was his first major public appearance wearing them.

Fed up viewers quickly took to social media to accuse Justin of appropriating Black culture—again.

One Twitter user wrote: "Cultural appropriation in progress? Justin Bieber debuts new 'white boy dreads' hairstyle."

Another unhappy fan said, "why r so many ppl mute about justin bieber's dreads."

User Sam White added, "Bieber got dreads. There's your (unwanted) daily dose of cultural appropriation."

A disappointed fan jumped in with, "wait what justin bieber has dreads?? 😳 wow bieber being dumb and racist is totally out of character for him! im so shocked!!"

Biebs has been in this boat before. Plenty of people gave him the side-eye when he showed himself rocking cornrows while on vacation with Hailey Baldwin.

However, in that case, even Justin agreed that the look wasn't his best. He captioned the photo: "Hailey made me get corn rows like an absolute douche bag, these will be off tomorrow trust me Danny."

So far Justin hasn't responded to this latest round of criticism, but we're pretty sure he'll encourage everyone to stop taking his hair so seriously. Back when his friend Kylie Jenner faced ridicule over her cornrows during summer 2015, Justin encouraged others to "ease up on her and focus that energy toward the larger issues of inequality that the country faces, rather than her personal style choices."

There's a good chance that Justin was too busy ignoring Selena Gomez at the iHeartRadio Awards to even notice anyone reacting to his appearance.

Just when we thought Jelena could become an item again, our hopes were dashed when Justin reportedly refused to speak to Selena backstage during the show. According to ET, an eyewitness said "that when Gomez was on her way to take photos during the show, Bieber walked by her—but didn't say a word, totally ignoring her as she passed."

The source added that Selena "conveniently arrived just moments after the 22-year-old pop star had finished his performance."

Later that night, Selena took the high road and stood, clapped and smiled for her ex as he accepted his award for Male Artist of the Year.

We can take that as a small sign of hope, or we can just sit back and watch this movie plot unfold. We're not sure of their relationship status, but we can be certain that Justin and Selena will never leave us bored.
