As his family size increases, Luke Combs is trying to get smaller.
The country superstar is opening up about his weight, indicating he's ready to slim down for the sake of his newborn son, who he and his wife welcomed this month.

"Having a kid has messed up my head on this thing in the best way," Luke told Zane Lowe on "Apple Music 1" on Tuesday, June 28. "I want to be around … I'm fine right now, my cholesterol and my blood pressure is fine 'cause I'm a younger guy, but by the time I'm 45, it's not going to be because of the shape that I'm in."
The "Beautiful Crazy" singer said his weight has always "bugged" him, but he's paying more attention to it now that he's a father.
"Especially when you're younger, you're like, man I just got like a horrible genetic dice roll on this thing," he continued, adding that his diet is also to blame. "It's like, not that I don't pig out, 'cause I do pig out. I'm not trying to say it's not my fault because it is in a lot of ways [it is.]"

Luke likens losing weight to a day on the links.
"I know what to do and how to do it, and I hate to keep going back to golf, but when I go play golf I can hit a good golf shot, I've done it a bunch of times, I can't do it consistently, and my relationship with food has been the same thing," he said. "I know what to do and how to do it and why to do it and when to do it."
The CMA Entertainer of the Year said he's still "comfortable" in his own skin, but he's affected by how people look at him.
"Sometimes I think, man I don't want people to think of me in this way where it's like, this guy doesn't care about himself," he said.
