Naya Rivera's little sister isn't here for anyone's criticism or judgement.
Hours after photos emerged showing the late "Glee" actress's ex-husband, actor Ryan Dorsey, moving in with her younger sister, Nickayla Rivera, the model and social media influencer took to Instagram to defend their decision.
"In the darkest time of my life, the only thing that is important is my friends & family," Nickayla, 25, wrote on her Instagram Story late on Sept. 28. "Showing up for my nephew even though I can't show up for myself."
Nickayla made it clear she and Ryan are living together so that she can help raise Josey — Naya and Ryan's son who turned 5 on Sept. 17. Josey was the last person to see his mother alive. Sheriffs say his mother saved his life when she was able to get him back on their rented pontoon boat in her final moments before she tragically drowned in California's Lake Piru in July.
"I'm not concerned with the way things look because no one can see each agonizing moment we all endure," Nickayla added. "What matters most I've learned, is to show compassion, not to judge others, & never take a moments of life for granted. I hope you all can do the same."
A report on DailyMail.com indicated that following Naya's death, Ryan had grown close with Nickayla. The U.K. tabloid reported that the former in-laws rented a modest three-bedroom home together in Southern California. On Sept. 6, the outlet reported, Nickayla was photographed helping Ryan start moving his things from his home in North Hills in Los Angeles's San Fernando Valley to their $5,000-a-month rental.

According to DailyMail.com, on Sept. 19, the pair "playfully held hands as they shopped in a local Target store." An eyewitness told the outlet, "They seem really comfortable together and are obviously helping each other through a very difficult period in both their lives. They were fooling around and chatting the whole time. They're obviously helping lift each other's spirits."
