Although the coronavirus pandemic would have likely altered or postponed her nuptials anyway, Savannah Chrisley said she actually called off her May wedding to live in engaged bliss longer.

In a new episode of the "Chrisley Confessions" podcast, the reality TV star said she and Nic Kerdiles "realized that things moved way too fast and we needed to go back to dating."
Initially, Savannah and Nic's wedding was set for May 9, her father Todd Chrisley's birthday.
"I just knew we had to work on things on a different level. We had to dig deeper and it's hard," she said. "It's 2020 and you know what, it's OK not to follow the guidelines and the whole timeframe that everyone follows."

Savannah and Nic got engaged in December 2018 after more than a year of dating.
On the podcast, she recalled getting marital advice from a friend.
"She said, 'When you get married, the good things in your relationship become great and the bad things in your relationship become worse.' And I truly sat on that and I thought about it and there was just so much that Nic and I needed to work through," Savannah said. "And there was a lot of pressure because we got engaged, it was public and everyone expected a wedding."
While speaking to her dad, she said she felt that Todd treated the postponement like a manger but quickly went back into "dad mode."
"That made me feel good that he supported my decision. It's been a whirlwind of things and we're still working on things," she said. "We're both in therapy. We're doing what we know we need to do."
