Donald Trump says he will "greatly miss" TV icon Ed McMahon, who passed away Tuesday morning at the age of 86.
"America has lost one of its great icons. Ed McMahon was a terrific entertainer and a wonderful person," Trump says in a statement to ET. "He will be greatly missed."
Ed was most famous for his work as Johnny Carson's announcer on the "Tonight Show," and as the host of the classic TV talent show "Star Search."
As ET reported in late February, McMahon was suffering from systemic bone cancer and had been treated at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. His wife Pam was at his side when he passed away.
