David Hasselhoff's ex-wife Pamela Bach is begging fans to help the actor quit alcohol before it kills him.
The "Baywatch" star, who has a long history of alcoholism, was hospitalized again last month, with media outlets speculating he had been detained on an involuntary psychiatric hold after a drinking binge.
He';s since insisted the rumors about his health are completely unfounded, saying he's "happy and healthy."
But his actress ex, who received her second DUI charge last month, insists his constant relapsing has hit the entire family, including their two daughters, 19-year-old Taylor and Hayley, 17.
Bach says in a statement, "The despair, feeling hopeless and unable to believe that things can ever change with David's alcoholism over the years has affected our whole family. We want our lives to be different, but nothing we have done has brought about change."
And she's pleading with anyone connected to the star to intervene and help him kick his demons once and for all: "We ask David's fans, supporters and handlers to take swift action to save this wonderful man's life. I have always been close to my daughters to comfort and support them as well as always being there for David. We will be forever hurt from this cruel disease. I am grateful for our two daughters who have been incredibly brave, strong and protective souls."
