The Voice's Tony Lucca has probably changed his tune about wanting to duet with Christina Aguilera.
During a visit to Us Weekly's New York City office in February, Lucca, 36, said he'd jump at the chance to perform alongside his former fellow Mouseketeer.
"It's one thing to rub elbows and be cheeky on TV together, but to actually put some time in rehearsal and share the stage once again would be really cool," the finalist from Team Adam shared.
Continued Lucca, "I think the world of her as a talent. I think she's phenomenal, and it would certainly elevate my game a bit."
Following Monday night's tension-filled performance show, however, Lucca seems like he's changed his mind about the Grammy winner.
After the singer took to the stage to cover Jay-Z's "99 Problems" for his final performance of the season, Aguilera--who previously failed to recognize her former costar from their Mickey Mouse Club days, and who later called his skillset "one dimensional"--knocked his and Adam Levine's song choice.
Directing the audience's attention to Lucca's wife and daughter, seated front-row, Aguilera told him she believed "the lyrical connotation was a little derogatory towards women, but all in all I thought it was fun."
An angry Levine defended his finalist's number. "We're not referring to women, we're referring to everything," he shot back. "It's called a metaphor."
After the show, Lucca opened up to Us backstage about Aguilera's criticism.
"How convenient that she waits the whole season to talk about all things classy," the heated contestant sniped. "It's just so transparent at this point and pathetic."
