Jennifer Lopez knows a thing (or three) about divorce, but experience hasn't made it any easier for the superstar.
In a new interview with People magazine, J.Lo says her most recent divorce -- a 2012 split from husband Marc Anthony after nearly eight years of marriage -- hit her hard.
"I went through a tremendous low," Jennifer told the mag. "But I wouldn't change anything [about my past] because it made me who I am."
Part of her new perspective now includes a different view of relationships. "As women we can sometimes give ourselves away," Jennifer said. "I was certainly guilty of that for some time. Now I realize I am good on my own, so now I can share my life with somebody."
And she's been doing just that for the past two years, cozying up to dancer beau Casper Smart. And while she's continually shrugged off questions about walking down the aisle one more time, one thing is certain: Whether or not she becomes Casper's wife, her most important title is "mother."
"I just feel like I went through a real growth spurt as a human being [when I became a mother]," Jennifer said, referring to twins Max and Emme. "Having my babies allowed me to realize what real unconditional love was."
