With 2010 just around the corner, singer/actress Mandy Moore reveals in the new issue of Shape magazine her list of resolutions for the New Year.
1. Hit the farmers' market every week
"Ryan [Adams, her husband] is an amazing cook, and there's a farmers' market about a mile from our house," she says. "I love the idea of getting up early on Sundays and walking to the market to pick up fresh fruits and vegetables. It's a good way to start my day."
2. Finally start a garden
"I want to try to grow some of my own vegetables. I'm curious to see if I can actually keep a garden going, because I usually kill my houseplants," she says. "Luckily, Ryan's really into the idea, so he'll make sure nothing dies."
3. Actually use my home exercise equipment
"After Pilates I should do some cardio, and after hiking, I need to do some resistance training," she says. "I have all the equipment in my house, and it's just collecting dust. So after I get home from Pilates, I'm going to jump on my mini trampoline for 15 minutes."
4. Learn something new (like the French language)
"I have the tools, I have the desire, I even have French speaking friends who I can practice with! My plan is, every day before dinner, I'm going to schedule 15 minutes to do one of the lessons on my computer. No more excuses!"
5. Step outside my comfort zone (like play guitar for an audience)
"I've started and stopped lessons a million times," she says, "but I'm less likely to cancel or make other plans if I've made the commitment and am paying someone."
