Following the tragic death of his longtime girlfriend L'Wren Scott, Mick Jagger has returned to L.A. to join his family and begin making funeral arrangements, his rep confirms to Us Weekly. The Rolling Stones rocker, 70, recently cancelled multiple concert dates after the designer -- whom he dated for nearly 10 years -- was found dead in her NYC apartment on March 17.
"Mick has arrived in L.A. where he is with his daughter Karis and her family who live there," his rep tells Us. "Lizzie and Georgia May are also there to support him with Jade and Jimmy joining them as plans are made for the funeral. The family appreciates privacy during this time." (Daughter Karis is from Jagger's previous relationship with ex Marsha A. Hunt. He had daughter Jade with ex-wife Bianca Jagger, and daughters Elizabeth and Georgia May, and son Jimmy with ex-wife Jerry Hall.)
Scott was pronounced dead at the age of 49 after her assistant found her hanging in her New York City apartment earlier this week. On March 19, the medical examiner ruled the death as a suicide.
Former New York Times fashion critic, and longtime friend Cathy Horyn of Scott suggested in a NYT write-up that Scott sounded "discouraged" and "run down" weeks before her death as she struggled with business and financial concerns.
"I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way," Jagger said in a Facebook post on March 18. "I have been touched by the tributes that people have paid to her, and also the personal messages of support that I have received. I will never forget her."
