The "Live Your Life" hit maker, real name Clifford Harris, Jr., was taken into custody with his wife Tameka "Tiny" Cottle after a traffic stop in Los Angeles and they were booked for felony possession of a controlled substance.
T.I. was already on probation for gun charges stemming from an arrest in 2007. He completed a prison sentence related to those charges in December.

On Friday, the rap star was back in court in his native Atlanta, Georgia, where he pleaded with a judge to spare him further jail time and allow him to enroll in a drug rehabilitation program instead.
Lawyers for the hip-hop star argued T.I. did not deserve the two-year prison sentence suggested by prosecutors for violating the terms of his parole, but the judge decided to revoke his probation and lock him up again.
The court date took place one day after T.I. vowed to turn his life around and leave his troubled ways behind him for good. The turnaround was prompted by praise he received for helping to talk a suicidal man down from the roof of a high-rise building in Atlanta earlier this week.
