It's over. Amber Heard and Johnny Depp are getting divorced.

The shocking news comes just a few days after the actor's mother passed away.

According to TMZ, Amber filed her divorce petition on May 23, citing irreconcilable differences.

The couple married in February of last year, yet Amber is asking for spousal support. It's believed that they have no prenuptial agreement.

Johnny seemed to show no signs of marital discord while promoting his film "Alice Through the Looking Glass" on Monday on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the same day Amber filed the paperwork.

The movie comes out on Friday, so the timing is terrible for Johnny. The split could very likely take away from the hype of his newest movie.

The timing is also awful on personal front for Johnny. The divorce documents indicate that the couple separated on May 22, which was just two days after his mother passed. Johnny and his mother were extremely close.

It seems that no one saw this coming, as the couple often showcased PDA on many red carpets throughout their romance. They also stood firmly by each other's sides during the international incident involving their dogs in Australia.
