But both People and TMZ report police are looking into allegations Brad Pitt was "verbally abusive" and "physical" with one of the six children he shares with his wife on Wednesday, Sept. 14.
A source tells the magazine The Los Angeles Police Department and L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services are investigating the purported incident, which was reportedly conveyed to authorities by an anonymous party who claimed Brad's allegedly abusive behavior took place on a private plane in front of Angelina and their five other children. The tipster, who is said to have contacted police from the tarmac, also claimed Brad had been drinking, according to People.
Another insider said Brad did not join Angelina that night at home.
"He takes the matter very seriously and says he did not commit any abuse of his children," says a asource close to the actor. "It's unfortunate that people involved are continuing to present him in the worst possible light."
Angelina cited irreconcilable differences when she filed for divorce. She has asked for sole custody of the couple's children, Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and 8-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.
Brad and Angelina married two years ago after more than a decade together. In a statement released earlier this week, Brad requested his children be given "the space they deserve" as he and Angelina navigate their split.
His announcement came on the heels of a similar statement from Angelina's attorney, who said the actress and humanitarian's "decision was made for the health of the family," adding that, "she will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time."
A report from USA Today on Thursday, Sept. 22, notes the paper has thus far been unable to confirm either the alleged incident that took place on the plane or that Brad is under investigation.
