Over Christmas 2016, the Sun reported that Kim "refused to let [her husband] come to her family's annual party on Christmas Eve despite the fact they have always attended as a couple," explaining that "she didn't want Kanye at her mom's Christmas bash this year, as she felt it was the first time she could really let her hair down." Her rep denied the report, telling the Daily Mail, "The story is false. Kanye was at the party." Kim also raised eyebrows when she also briefly removed "West" (as well as "Kardashian") from her Twitter and Instagram account names, though she's since restored them.
