Staying on-brand with her fierce woman-focused roles, Michelle Rodriguez plays a female transgender hitman in new movie "The Assignment." Michelle defended the film's controversial premise on Instagram, writing, "I never felt more like a woman than when I played a man."

3. She's dedicated to the environment
In March 2017, Michelle Rodriguez traveled with Captain Paul Watson of Sea Shepherd on an expedition to save endangered baby seals from hunters and ended up finding herself in the center of an ecological plight. "I was expecting to see thousands of seals on a solid ice pack. What I saw is an ecological disaster," she told People. Michelle also frequently tweets articles about climate change awareness and ocean exploration.
4. She's bisexual
According to Michelle Rodriguez, being bisexual is "something natural and organic." The actress told "ET," "I've gone both ways. I do as I please. I am too f—— curious to sit here and not try when I can. Men are intriguing. So are chicks." Michelle was linked to model Cara Delevingne in 2014 and just a short while later, she was spotted with Zac Efron, with whom she enjoyed a hot and heavy summer romance.
5. She's a hardcore feminist

6. She cherishes her friendship with the late Paul Walker
Michelle Rodriguez and the late Paul Walker were very close friends up until his death in 2013 in a fiery car crash. The two met on the set of 2001's "The Fast and the Furious" and developed a tight bond. "What he embodied in one persona is almost impossible to find out there. He had a swag to him. He wasn't just another Caucasian male. He had some something that united him to the streets, that made him a little bit edgier than everybody else," she told Entertainment Weekly.
7. She was raised Jehovah's Witness
Although Michelle Rodriguez grew up as a Jehovah's Witness, she no longer practices in the faith. But her childhood indoctrination in the religion has made her extremely curious about other faiths and spirituality. Her friend Milla Jovovich piqued her interest in shamanism and Michelle has since read several books by New Age author Carlos Castaneda. She told Interview magazine, "Sometimes I wake up in awe that I'm alive. I can't get over that part, so I guess it makes me kind of like an existentialist. I'm always researching ancient religions."
8. She went to jail
In 2007, Michelle Rodriguez's bad-girl streak got the best of her. The former "Lost" star spent 18 days in jail in late 2007 and early 2008 after receiving a 180-day sentence for violating probation in a drunk driving case. She was released early due to overcrowding.
