Off to school! A 2-year-old Prince George started attending nursery school this year in January, when he went to his first day of classes at the Westacre Montessori School near his Amner Hall home in Norfolk, England.

Prince Harry visited Nepal in the wake of the country's 2015 earthquake. He ended up extending his trip by a week in March, explaining, "I'm so grateful to have this opportunity at the end of my official tour to do my small bit to help."
In April, Prince William and Duchess Kate embarked on a royal tour of India and Bhutan. The palace explained that the first part of the visit was intended to "contribute to the on-going partnership between Britain and India."
Duchess Kate and Prince William also visited Bhutan on their spring tour. The palace explained that the visit to Bhutan, which only opened its borders to tourists in the '70s, was to "build on the friendly relations between the UK and Bhutan."
After their royal tour of India and Bhutan, Prince William and Duchess Kate returned home to host President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama for dinner at Kensington Palace in April. The couples and Prince Harry posed for a photo outside before they all enjoyed a nice meal together.
Prince George steals the show! Though it was his parents who were dining with President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama that night, it was Prince George who made headlines after photos appeared of the future king — in a monogrammed bathrobe — meeting the leader of the free world in his Kensington Palace living room in April.
Prince Harry met with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in Toronto in May. The popular PM and the prince were promoting the arrival of the Invictus Games in 2017. The annual event is intended to "inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a wider understanding and respect for wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women."
After spending time with Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau celebrating the impending 2017 Invictus Games in Toronto, Prince Harry headed south to Orlando, Florida, where he teamed up with ABC's Robin Roberts and First Lady Michelle Obama at the 2016 Invictus Games Opening Ceremony.
Happy birthday, Queen Elizabeth II! The monarch's 90th birthday festivities took place in June and included a Trooping the Colour celebration at Buckingham Palace.
Duchess Kate and Prince William visited the U.S. Embassy in London to sign a book of condolences for the victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, Florida, in June.
Royal duties! Prince Harry, Duchess Kate and Prince William paid their respects to fallen soldiers of World War II during the Commemoration of the Centenary of the Battle of the Somme in July.
Prince William and Duchess Kate visited the Royal International Air Tattoo — which happens to be the world's largest airshow — at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, Britain, in July. They brought along their son, Prince George, but he didn't appear to be having too much fun. The future king, who would be celebrating his third birthday a few weeks later, threw a temper tantrum during the show.
In August, Duchess Kate and Prince William made a visit to Keech Hospice Care in Luton, England, to commemorate the establishment's 25th anniversary. While there, William shared memories of his mother's death with a 14-year-old boy who had recently lost his own mother, promising him that although he missed her every day, "time makes it easier."
Prince William, Duchess Kate, Prince George and Princess Charlotte spent eight fun-filled days in Canada in September starting in Victoria, British Columbia. During the royal tour, the family met with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, First Nations leaders and other dignitaries.
The Cambridges attended a children's party for military families in Victoria, British Columbia, during their stay in Canada. There, Prince William and Duchess Kate watched over Prince George and Princess Charlotte as they played with bubbles and balloon animals.
And they're off! Prince William, Duchess Kate, Prince George and Prince Charlotte waved an official farewell at the end of their Canadian tour in October. The family left on a float plane out of the Victoria Harbour Airport to the delight of Prince George, who loves airplanes.
Prince Harry took time to meet his country's women's hockey team at a reception for Great Britain's 2016 Olympic and Paralympic teams in October. "He's big on the bants and the banter. He'd definitely fit into our team and in the locker room!" goalkeeper Maddie Hinch said of the hilarious royal.
Prince Harry made major headlines in October when word got out that he had a new love in his life. The handsome royal's relationship with "Suits" actress Meghan Markle went public in a big way, and in the weeks following the romance news, he put out a remarkable statement via Kensington Palace condemning the media's treatment of his girlfriend — thereby verifying the dating rumors.
Prince William made his first visit to Vietnam in November on a quest to help animals. The future king took part in an international conference on the illegal wildlife trade that focused on protecting the lives of endangered animals like elephants and rhinos. He also made a stop at the country's Hong Ha Primary School, where he spoke with children about the importance of protecting the animals.
In late November, Prince Harry headed down to the Caribbean for a royal tour on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II and met with Barbados' own version of royalty, Rihanna. The prince and the music superstar celebrated the country's 50th anniversary of independence from Britain.
In December, Prince Harry hit the phones for ICAP Charity Day, an event that raised money at 60 of the firm's offices around the world. Harry even joined the brokers on the trading floor to help out.
