Meghan Markle's latest lifestyle tip is bubbling up more backlash for the embattled Duchess of Sussex.
She recently shared a new promotional post for her As Ever brand on Instagram, but while some fans praised her entertaining advice, others brutally mocked what one critic called a "lame" idea involving sparkling wine and raspberries.
The post showed off the brand's 2021 Vintage Napa Valley Brut, including close-up photos of the bottle, glasses filled with sparkling wine garnished with fruit, an ice cube engraved with her brand's name and more.
Alongside the images, Meghan offered a suggestion for entertaining guests.
"A simple hosting tip we always return to. Chill your brut well, pour slowly and finish with a few fresh raspberries for garnish," she captioned the photos. "Effortless, unfussy and just celebratory enough for an easy evening in or before a fun night out."
Critics pounced
Not everyone was impressed with the suggestion from Prince Harry's wife of nearly eight years.
Britain's Daily Express rounded up some of the social media comments that poked fun at Markle, her aesthetic and the idea itself, arguing it was overly staged or unoriginal.
One Reddit user wrote, "The raspberry close-up and blurry drink + raspberry pic are screaming early 2000s high school photography class student with a teen who thinks they're artistic, but they're so lame that not even the teacher can do anything but pat them on the head and say 'nice work.'"
Others questioned the premise of the tip. "Why is everything she does just so uninteresting?" one commenter asked.
Added another, "I HATE having fruit in my champagne or in her case, sparkling wine. I want to enjoy the champagne for itself. A single raspberry is not going to alter the taste, but it will bob about and bother me."
Another critic added, "Does she think she discovered the concept of putting something like a raspberry or strawberry into a glass of sparkling wine? That she's somehow 'elevated' it? I've been doing it for decades, as have we all."
The criticism spread quickly across social media, where some users also piled on with their own sarcastic takes.
"Oh my gosh, she's so basic," wrote one X user, while another added, "Be sure to put the moldy flower sprinkles in it!"
Yet another X user pointed to some of the entertaining and cooking tips the Duchess of Sussex shared on her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, lamenting, "This is the woman that showed us how to take pretzels out of one bag and put into another; how to steep tea; how to pop corn; how to make a rainbow out of fruit…. Her talents are limitless."
Still another X user complained, "All she ever serves is fruit and booze. Her guests are drunk and hungry."
Quipped another, "Wait until she shows her toast-buttering technique."
Even the ice cubes drew attention

Some viewers zeroed in on another element in the photos — an ice cube engraved with the As Ever brand name.
"The As Ever on the ice cube made me laugh. The last letter swoop isn't even on the cube," another critic noted. "She has an obsession with 'elevating' ice. It's ice. It's just fine. Leave it alone."
Another added, "The ice cube: Why does the loop of the 'r' extend past the edge of the cube? It doesn't even bend over the edge, but rather hangs in the air. The usual sloppiness with Photoshop."

But the backlash wasn't universal.
Some supporters praised Meghan and defended her against critics who they felt were nitpicking a harmless lifestyle post.
One user wrote on X, "I have nothing but the greatest respect for Prince Harry and Meghan."
Another added, "Keep on living your beautiful and peaceful life, lovely Meghan," while a different commenter added a single word to the discourse: "Unbothered!"
Others pushed back more forcefully against the criticism itself.
"Queen Meghan enjoying her best life, making jam, popping #AsEver Brut sparkling wine with a garnish raspberry and minding her business. #WeLoveYouMeghan," another supporter posted on X.
Still another X commenter argued the outrage said more about Meghan's critics than the post itself. "The way you all are so much more angry at a hosting tip than you ever were about trafficking children says everything," the commenter wrote.
