Fans of the cult-hit series "Veronica Mars" may get another chance to watch their

favorite P.I. in action! At the ABC TCA press conference for his upcoming series, "Cupid," Rob Thomas revealed that his very next writing

project is a movie based on "Veronica Mars."

"I know that Kristen [Bell] wants to do it. I want to do it. Joel

[Silver] wants to do it and now I suddenly find myself with enough time to write

that script. So for me, that's the next project," he says.

"We were reduced from 13 episodes to eight episodes," Thomas says of his

pickup from ABC for "Cupid," which stars Sarah Paulson and Bobby Cannavale. "But what that does mean for me is

that I have a couple months to write the 'Veronica Mars' movie.'

That said, it isn't a done deal. Just because Thomas writes it doesn't mean

it will be made.

"My writing that movie is really just half the battle. Somebody else has to

pay for it. But we are hopeful. I mean, Joel Silver does have a certain pile of

money that he can decide, on and he called me asking if we can we do this
