Evan Rachel Wood revealed on her Instagram Story that she wasn't invited to return for the
Practical Magic sequel. "I am getting asked about this a lot, so l'll just clear it up now; I was not asked to come back and be in the #PracticalMagic sequel. I offered my services, even if it was one scene or one line," she wrote.

Evan Rachel Wood revealed that a new actor was brought on for the project. "I was told they are re-casting," she said. "I am sorry to disappoint the fans. It was not in my control or my choice. I would have happily rejoined my sisters."

Evan Rachel Wood starred as Kylie Owens — the older of Sally's two daughters — in
Practical Magic.
Sandra Bullock is set to return to the role of Sally Owens in the sequel, while
Nicole Kidman will reprise the role of Sally's sister, Gilly Owens. Stockard Channing and Dianne West will also return for the sequel, which is set to premiere in September 2026. Aside from the original cast members,
Joey King,
Lee Pace,
Maisie Williams,
Xolo Maridueña and
Solly McLeod will also star in the movie.
