In an interview,
Prince Harry minimized
the negative impact of
Spare and his interviews about the monarchy, as the duke and
Meghan Markle portrayed the royals as cold and implied the institution was racist toward the
Suits star.
"I know that [speaking out] annoys some people and it goes against the narrative," Harry told
The Guardian. "The book? It was a series of corrections to stories already out there. One point of view had been put out, and it needed to be corrected."

"I don't believe that I aired my dirty laundry in public. It was a difficult message, but I did it in the best way possible,"
Prince Harry continued. "My conscience is clear."
In the book, Harry commented on
Prince William's appearance and depicted him as violent.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's actions ultimately hurt

"Harry could have deflected the question, or offered a hint of an apology without needing to say 'I'm sorry, I regret the hurt I've caused my family,'" Ferguson added. "But instead, he's doubled down on his bullish approach and shown once and for all that he cannot be trusted."
