A member of Queen Elizabeth II's staff spoke to royal biographer Robert Hardman for Charles III: New King, New Court. The Inside Story.The employee claimed that Her Majesty was "as angry as I'd ever seen her" after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shared that Elizabeth had approved of them naming their daughter Princess Lilibet after her great-grandmother.

A spokesperson for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shut down the assertion that the couple didn't talk to Queen Elizabeth II before naming Princess Lilibet."The duke spoke with his family in advance of the announcement — in fact, his grandmother was the first family member he called," the Sussexes' rep said, per People.

"During that conversation, he shared their hope of naming their daughter Lilibet in her honor," the rep continued. "Had she not been supportive, they would not have used the name."_
When Princess Lilibet was born, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle celebrated the youngster's name before it sparked controversy."Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet," the couple said at the time. "Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honor her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales."
