Michael Bolton
Michael Bolton has been open about his battle with glioblastoma, an aggressive and incurable brain cancer. In 2023, the legendary singer informed fans that he was fighting the disease. His daughter, Taryn Bolton, later explained to People that he had shown several warning signs in the days before his official diagnosis.
One of the "super weird" signs, she said, occurred during a bowling outing, when her father bowled out of turn three times.
"That was when we were like, 'Something's wrong with his brain,'" she said. "Everything that happened was weird for him but not super alarming. When you look back at everything together… we missed so many things."
Eventually, a severe headache sent Michael to the hospital, and an MRI revealed a brain tumor.
"You're reaching into your resources and your resolve in a way that you never would have thought," the singer told People. "Succumbing to the challenge is not an option. You're really quickly drawn into a duel. I guess that's the way you find out what you're made of."
Chadwick Boseman
In 2016, Chadwick Boseman was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer and fought it privately for four years until it reached stage IV, leading to his death."A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much," the actor's social media account posted following his death. "From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson's Ma Rainey's Black Bottom and several more, all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy."
According to his agent, Michael Greene, the late actor kept his illness out of the public eye, following his mother's advice to stay private.
Carolyn Boseman "always taught him not to have people fuss over him," Greene said, adding, "He also felt in this business that people trip out about things, and he was a very, very private person."
Patrick Swayze

After more than a year of treatment, including chemotherapy and an experimental drug trial, he revealed that the disease had metastasized to his liver. The actor admitted that he had been a heavy smoker for most of his life and believed the habit contributed to his illness. Swayze passed away just 20 months after his diagnosis.
Pat Finn
According to his family, actor Pat Finn had been quietly fighting cancer for a few years prior to his death in December 2025."Pat bravely battled cancer over the past few years. We know heaven is going to have quite the party with Pat Finn's arrival. In Pat's final days, he often showed the biggest signs when the Bears scored a touchdown. No pressure Bears – just saying – do it for Pat," his family wrote at the time.
Finn was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2022, and though it initially went into remission, the cancer later returned and metastasized.
