According to royal photographer
Arthur Edwards, Kate Middleton trembled during her 2010 engagement photocall with
Prince William. "She was so nervous, her hand was shaking. He [William] had to hold her hand steady so I could photograph it," he shared via the Instagram account @uk_royal_follower.

During the press gathering, Kate Middleton admitted she was a royal rookie. "It's obviously nerve-wracking because I don't know the ropes really", she
said. "I'm willing to learn quickly and work hard."

Prince William proposed to Kate Middleton in October 2010 with the late
Princess Diana's engagement ring during a trip to Kenya. The couple announced the happy news to the world the following month.

While sitting for their engagement interview,
Prince William opened up about giving Kate Middleton Princess Diana's heirloom. "Well, of course, you will recognize this as my mother's engagement ring. It's my way of making sure my mother didn't miss out on today," he said about his mom, who died in a car crash in 1997.
