According to the Court Circular of 2025, the late
Queen Elizabeth II's cousin and a full-time working member of The Firm,
Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester, outpaced Prince William's number of
engagements last year. The 81-year-old completed 212 official events, while the future king of England attended 202.

Prince Richard made appearances at national and international events to support King Charles III. Many of the engagements were related to architecture and conservation.

Despite his ongoing cancer battle, King Charles III ranked as the busiest member of The Firm this year with 532 engagements. Princess Anne came in second with 478 appearances. Prince Edward — who is the eldest member of the royal family at 90 — clocked in third with 313. Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, came in fourth place with 235 engagements, Queen Camilla scored fifth place with 228. Prince Richard came in sixth and Prince William nabbed seventh place.

Following Kate Middleton's return to work after announcing her remission from cancer, she banked 68 engagements for the year.

During a visit to Colchester Hospital in July, Kate Middleton opened up about resuming her royal duties. "You put on a sort of brave face, stoicism through treatment. Treatment's done, then it's like, 'I can crack on, get back to normal,' but actually, the phase afterwards is really, really difficult," she said via
Daily Express. "You're not necessarily under the clinical team any longer, but you're not able to function normally at home as you perhaps once used to."
