"Monarchy is indeed an anachronism, but, in this country at least, set against the ever-shifting background of poisonous politics, it is an anachronism that appears to work," royal correspondent Jennie Bond agreed in The i Paper. According to Daily Express Deputy Royal Editor Rebecca Russell, it's the royal family's ability to make adjustments to keep up with the times — such as removing Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's titles in the wake of scandal — that have allowed them to stay relevant in spite of their commitment to maintaining tradition. Prince William has indicated he plans to go even further with this practice._
Prince William is expected to modernize the monarchy while protecting the Crown. Insiders have shared that he is looking forward to his future as king."Prince William's been quite vocal about what he wants to do when the time comes," a source told People. "[To be] more accessible, more approachable."

While appearing on The Reluctant Traveler, Prince William opened up about his vision for the Crown."I want to create a world in which my son is proud of what we do," William told Eugene Levy. "A world and a job that actually does impact people's lives for the better."

Royal biographer Andrew Morton was impressed by Prince William's words."He struck me as one of the lads," Morton told People. "That's different from previous generations. He seems very much one of us, even though he is the future King."
