While speaking about taking care of her father,
Ronald Ferguson, after her late mother,
Susan Barrantes, left him, Sarah Ferguson compared him to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. "When
Jane [
Ferguson, her sister] left for Australia, I became a carer for dad. I was left to look after a sad man," she said in a 2024 interview with
The Times. "Which is sort of what I'm doing now."

Despite the harsh remark, Sarah Ferguson praised Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. "I was totally and utterly in love with Andrew. I would do it all over again," she said. "He's the best — a great man with a great heart and kind."

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson's marriage lasted from 1986 until 1996. The couple share two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. "Our wedding was the best day of my life. But I gave up my anonymity that day. I was able to because love conquers all. It's still with us today. I won't let him down," the former Duchess of York said.

"He supports me as much as I support him. He's supported me through thick and thin, not just marriage or divorce. We agree on the three Cs — communication, compromise, compassion," Sarah Ferguson said of her relationship with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

Sarah Ferguson and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor lived together for years at Royal Lodge after their romance ended. The former couple were recently evicted from the home and stripped of their titles due to their friendship with Jeffrey Epstein.

After essentially being banished from The Firm, Sarah Ferguson and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor will reportedly live separately. "Sarah has always been so fiercely loyal to Andrew, defending him even in the face of the most sordid allegations," expert Jennie Bond told The Mirror. "Perhaps she no longer believes him, or perhaps Andrew now wants to be on his own."
