No. 2: Presumed Innocent is gone but not forgotten
Presumed Innocent, which aired all the way back in June 2024, earned four Emmy nominations in acting categories for stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Bill Camp, Peter Sarsgaard and Ruth Negga — even though it feels like ages since we watched the miniseries. Fortunately, Emmy voters have longer memories than we do!
No. 3: Severance proved worth the wait
The second season of Severance proved to be worth the almost three-year wait, as the popular office thriller scored 27 Emmy nominations for its somewhat lackluster sophomore effort.
No. 4: Bad Sisters' luck of the Irish
Sharon Horgan, who both stars in and created Bad Sisters, is continuing to carve out her own space in Hollywood. She scored her second Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Eva Garvey on the Irish Apple TV+ series, which hasn't exactly garnered a ton of buzz in the three years since it debuted.
No. 5: The Residence wins some, loses some
The Residence failed to score a season 2 renewal from Netflix, but it managed to wow the Television Academy. Uzo Aduba earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her work as Detective Cordelia Cupp on the now-canceled crime-comedy.
