Heath Ledger has received a Best Supporting Oscar nomination for his performance in 'The Dark Knight,' one year after his tragic death.

The actor most recently won a posthumous Golden Globe for his role as the Joker in the film. The film's director, Christopher Nolan, took the stage and accepted the statuette, saying, "For any of us lucky enough to work with him ... he will be eternally missed but he will never be forgotten."
