Blake Shelton has a simple message for friends who weren't invited to his intimate wedding last month: Get over it.
While chatting with Storme Warren's SiriusXM radio show, "The Highway," the country singer said he's had to have some uncomfortable conversations about the guest list.
"I've had awkward conversations with so many of my friends," he said.
Many of his pals have been passive aggressive about not getting the invite. "Oh, oh, yeah. I read about that. How was that?," Blake said friends have asked.
"Listen, we kept it small, get over it. That's not about you," he told friends. "So, there's a lot of them."
Blake and Gwen Stefani's wedding was a long time coming. The couple dated for more than five years before tying the knot on July 3 at Blake's ranch in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Reports said about 40 guests attended the nuptials, which was presided over by "The Voice" host Carson Daly.
Perhaps the most notable missing wedding attendee was Adam Levine, who is very close with Blake and Gwen. In the spring, he told Ellen DeGeneres that he figured he would make the cut.
"I'll go to the wedding and I'll object," he joked. "I will probably not be invited now that I'm saying this on live television. But I'll be there somehow."
Prior to that, the "God's Country" singer said he wanted Adam to perform at the ceremony.
Since the nuptials, Blake said he and Gwen have been laying low and enjoying their time as a married couple. They haven't gone on a honeymoon.
"No, we haven't yet. We still are probably going to," Blake said. "We did have some time after the wedding, just she and I, but we just wanted something calm for a minute and not to run off and then go do something else. We just stayed there in Oklahoma and just had some quiet time just she and I.
