Home is where the insanely high price tag is. JAY-Z and Beyonce are reportedly worth over $1 billion dollars, but they can't seem to find a home in their price range.
The superstar couple is currently living in a massive 6.3 million-acre spread in Malibu, Calif., and they're forking over $400,000 a month for it. But, that property is just a rental and they have no intention on staying there once summer ends.
TMZ reported on June 27 that the duo has been scrambling to find a home in Los Angeles and they are growing increasingly frustrated with the process. Money, perhaps inexplicably, seems to be the hang up.
The celebrity website said JAY and Bey have a budget of about $75 million for a home, but can't seem to find one that they can't live without. Every home that they want is about double their price range.
"They want a super baller, crazy estate, and the ones they love are going for $150 [million,]" a source told TMZ.
The couple, who Forbes estimates to be worth $1.16 billion, is expected to leave their luxurious rental at the end of August, just before their 5-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, begins school (her school, by the way, is across town and nowhere near the rental property). The search could soon turn downright desperate, though, as they have two more children to attend to.
After a week and a half in the hospital, Beyonce and Jay-Z were finally able to bring their newborn twins home after spending time "under the lights," it was reported this week.
Shortly after Beyonce gave birth, there was a report that the twins — a boy and a girl — were born premature and are "under the lights," which likely refers to the phototherapy that's often used on babies born with jaundice. The lights help reduce elevated bilirubin levels.
