Peter Fonda's widow has filed a lawsuit against the hospital that treated the late actor.
In court documents obtained by TMZ, Margaret Fonda claims doctors at Providence Saint Joseph's Health Center in Santa Monica, California, were negligent in their jobs and failed to properly consult, diagnose and treat Peter. All of these things were factors in his death, she says.
Margaret names the hospital and several doctors in her lawsuit.
Peter passed away on Aug. 16, 2019, due to lung cancer. He was 79.
Margaret argues that her movie star husband had a lot of years ahead of him, but medical professionals at the hospital didn't order the appropriate tests and didn't properly advise him to do follow-up tests. She believes that the recommendation that Peter seek treatment from other specialists was a failure.
She is suing for damages.
Prior to his death, the "Easy Rider" star had been in and out of the hospital.
"I am very sad," his sister Jane Fonda wrote after the passing. "He was my sweet-hearted baby brother. The talker of the family. I have had beautiful alone time with him these last days. He went out laughing."
