Stephen King has a theory about why President Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky's meeting became explosive.The author took to X on Saturday, March 1, to make scathing comments about the feud between the two world leaders at the White House over Ukraine's war against Russia.

"Trump and [Vice President J.D.] Vance threw Zelensky under the bus because people are angry about [Elon] Musk's crazy cutting spree and Trump kissing [Vladimir] Putin's a**. Tossed the base some red meat (I'm looking at you, Lindsey Graham). Old pro wrestling trick. Fire up the crowd," the famed novelist wrote.King's statement got mixed responses. "Why should America keep footing the bill for Europe's defense when they won't stand up to Russia themselves?" one X user asked.

"Why don't you put your millions to use Stephen and write Ukraine a check???" a second X user chimed in."This makes absolutely no sense," a third said.
However, others loved the 77-year-old's take on the current political climate. "I'm so glad you're back Stephen. Your voice is so important," wrote one fan.

On Friday, February 28, Trump and Vance got into a heated confrontation in the Oval Office with the Ukrainian president over the United States' role in the war."Mr. President, with respect, I think it's disrespectful for you to come into the Oval Office to try to litigate this in front of the American media," the former senator from Ohio told Zelensky.

"Right now, you guys are going around and forcing conscripts to the front lines because you have manpower problems. You should be thanking the president for bringing it, to bring it into this country," Vance said.Zelensky wasted no time calling out the second-in-command, stating, "Have you ever been to Ukraine that you say what problems we have?"

Things continued to take a turn when Trump chimed in. "You don't have the cards right now. With us, you start having cards," he scolded Zelensky."I'm not playing cards," Ukraine's president replied.
"Yeah, you're playing cards," Trump fired back. "You're gambling with the lives of millions of people. You're gambling with World War III. You're gambling with World War III. And what you're doing is very disrespectful to the country, this country."
