Alexa Ray Joel has reportedly been released from a New York Hospital after swallowing eight tablets of homeopathic Traumeel pills in an alleged suicide attempt.
The daughter to pop singer Billy Joel and model Christie Brinkley left St. Vincent's Hospital after being admitted on Saturday, Us magazine confirms. Her father remained at his home in Oyster Bay, Long Island in constant phone contact with his daughter up until her release. Joel told Newsday on Saturday that his daughter "is going to be fine."

The New York Post is reporting that Alexa Ray called 911 herself, telling dispatchers: "Took pills. Want to die." It had originally been thought that a friend of the 23-year-old had been the one to dial for help.
Alexa Ray is the only daughter of Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley, whose 9-year marriage ended in 1994.
According to reports from the New York Daily News, Alexa Ray had been distraught over a failed relationship with ex-boyfriend Jimmy Riot, who she'd broken up with a few years ago.
"She has battled depression," the source told the NY Daily News. "She had a rough breakup with a boyfriend . . . It was her first love."
Pressure from her parents' divorce, her mother's divorce from second husband Peter Cook and her father's marriage to a woman not much older than her added to Alexa Ray's stress.

In August, Alexa Ray posted messages on her MySpace page expressing frustration with her love life. She also listed her mood as "forgotten."
"I don't like dating!!! Wish I could be in a relationship again without having to date," she wrote.
"I HATE going out!! I'm a homebody and a workaholic ... I don't like going out and drinking to meet men!!! I always have to drag myself out the door to get up the motivation to go out, and when I do go out, I don't meet anybody!!!"
"I live in the greatest city in the world and I can't seem to meet an interesting guy who also happens to be NICE."
Billy Joel has had his own run in with depression and attempted suicide. Before he was famous, a 21-year-old Billy Joel once tried to off himself by swallowing furniture polish.
"I was suicidal," Joel told Details magazine last year. "I was 21. It's a tough age. Things hit you really hard. A relationship with a girl had ended and I was devastated, and then it didn't work out with the recording we did, and I just figured the world didn't need another failed musician."
He added, "You take yourself so seriously. You've got your head so far up your a-- you can't see straight."
