Ellie Goulding's search for her own prince has begun anew.
After about a year of dating, the British singer, 25, has split from electro music producer Skrillex, two sources confirm to Us Weekly.
Back in February, Us Weekly broke news of the musical romance between Goulding -- who sang "Lights" and other hits for Kate Middleton and Prince William at a royal wedding reception in April 2011 -- and the Grammy-winning artist (real name: Sonny Moore), 24.
"It's over," a source close to Goulding tells Us. "There's no bad blood. Just a classic case of long distance being impossible. They hope to remain good friends." Indeed, Goulding and Skrillex struggled to keep the love alive with Goulding based in the UK, while her man lived in Los Angeles.
"It just happened. Their schedules are just too crazy," a second insider tells Us. "Work schedules and distance took their toll. She's fine though."
Goulding praised her man as recently as August to TIME: "I think we influence each other -- not necessarily in music, but in the way that any couple would influence each other," she said of her beau, to whom she was introduced through musical connections. "One of the reasons that we first liked each other is that we're both very motivated and we work really hard. We just want to make good music and tour and I think, you know, we motivate each other."
"We were good mates before we became a couple," Goulding added, "and we're both really big fans of each other."
