Carefree is the way to be for Katie Holmes! The 34-year-old actress didn't look like she had a worry in the world as she frolicked in the fountain with costar Luke Kirby at Washington Square Park on Tuesday, May 21, as part of her role in upcoming film Mania Days.
The usually reserved actress looked positively gleeful as she splashed around in the New York City landmark in nothing but jean shorts and a white T-shirt. Kirby, clad in a blue T-shirt and jeans, grabbed her hand at several points throughout the shoot, and looked happy to be shooting the fun scene.
In the film, the pair portray two manic depressives who meet in a psychiatric hospital and begin a romance together.
Holmes was turning heads in much more formal attire earlier this month at the annual Metropolitan Museum of Art gala on May 6. Tom Cruise's ex-wife left their daughter Suri at home to walk the red carpet, stunning onlookers in a flowing white, backless Francisco Costa gown with a considerable train to boot.
She and Cruise, 50, pulled the plug on their marriage in June 2012, but the pair have both been busy with their individual careers ever since.
"They are incredibly happy," Rock of Ages director Adam Shankman told Us Weekly in March. "Katie seems really happy. You just fight through all the noise. And it's noisy!"
