It's a sartorial showdown!
After "Modern Family" star Sarah Hyland playfully poked fun at "Glee" actress Lea Michele's red-carpet pose during E!'s "Fashion Police" on Friday, the 21-year-old was criticized by fans of the FOX hit.
"I did not intend for my comments to be taken in a malicious way," Hyland clarified via Twitter on Saturday. "But I did hate the dress. Called her ass great. Did you all hear that one?"
When several Twitter users accused the actress of being envious of Michele, 25, Hyland responded, "In no way am I jealous of Lea Michele. I'm happy with my own life and am not jealous of anyone else's in the world."
"Congrats Lea. You know how to work the red carpet. I can't take it as seriously as you," she added. "I can't take myself that seriously. I don't like the red carpet. I feel silly. So props to her for knowing what she's doing and enjoying it."
Though Hyland hopes Michele takes the criticism in stride, the "Modern Family" star added that she "won't apologize" for her remarks on "Fashion Police."
"I'm an outspoken person," she explained. "I own what I said about that outfit. And I mimicked what I saw with my own two eyes."
