Not very many kids get the opportunity to grow up or spend significant time in the White House. Join us as we take a look at where some of the first sons and daughters of America's presidents ended up, starting with the most recent teen in the White House — Barron Trump!
Former President Donald Trump's youngest child, Barron Trump, was just 10 when his father was sworn into office in January 2017. Barron's mother is Donald's third and current wife, Melania Trump, and he is the couple's only child together.
In the months after his father became president, Barron remained in New York City with his mother so he could finish out the school year where he was raised then transferred to St. Andrew's Episcopal School in Potomac, Maryland, the following school year after he and his mother joined Donald in the White House.

Barron Trump is nearly all grown up!
After attending St. Andrew's Episcopal School in Potomac, Maryland, during dad Donald Trump's presidential term, he transferred to Oxbridge Academy in Palm Beach, Florida, in 2021.
In 2023, the celebrity scion — who's grown to be a reported 6 feet, 7 inches tall — turned 17. He's set to graduate from high school in the spring of 2024.

Ivanka Trump — one of former President Donald Trump's three children with his first wife, the late Ivana Trump — worked closely with her father for years. The University of Pennsylvania grad previously served as the executive vice president of the family business, the Trump Organization, and appeared on Donald's popular NBC series, "The Apprentice." So it was no surprise that when her dad took office in January 2017, Ivanka — despite her lack of political experience — became a senior adviser in his administration. Her husband, Jared Kushner, also served as a senior adviser.

After her father left the White House, Ivanka Trump and husband Jared Kushner moved to Surfside, Florida — a suburb of Miami — with their three children. They've built their real estate portfolio in the state ever since. Despite working closely with her father during most of her adult life, including in the White House, when asked about his 2024 presidential run, Ivanka revealed in a 2022 statement that looking to the future, "I do not plan to be involved in politics."

Former President Donald Trump's eldest child with the late Ivana Trump, Donald Trump Jr., worked closely with him in the family business prior to his presidential term. Don Jr. has served as an executive vice president of the Trump Organization, alongside younger brother Eric Trump, and was a boardroom judge on NBC's "The Apprentice" like his sister, Ivanka Trump. He was very active in his father's 2016 presidential campaign but unlike Ivanka, he didn't take an official position in the administration during their dad's term, instead opting to continue to work for the Trump Organization.
In 2018 — during Donald's presidency — Don Jr. split from his wife, Vanessa Haydon, with whom he shares five children. The same year, he began dating former Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle. Their engagement was revealed in 2020.

These days, Donald Trump Jr. is still engaged to Kimberly Guilfoyle. He made another major change in recent years too, moving from his home base of New York City to Florida like other members of his family. He's remained politically active, supporting his father on social media, at rallies and at appearances at the Conservative Political Action Conference and Turning Point Action USA Conference. He launched a podcast, "Triggered with Don Jr.," in January 2023.

Eric Trump — former President Donald Trump's youngest child with the late Ivana Trump — for years worked closely with his father, serving as an executive vice president of the Trump Organization and appearing on his dad's TV series, "The Apprentice," as a boardroom judge. Eric was also a part of Donald's 2016 presidential campaign, serving as a key adviser and fundraiser. But once his father took office, he took a step back from politics and continued to run the Trump Organization alongside brother Donald Trump Jr.
While his dad was in office, Eric became a father for the first time: He and wife Lara Trump welcomed son Eric in September 2017 and daughter Carolina in August 2019.

Much like his siblings, Eric Trump left New York for Florida following his father's time as president, moving to Jupiter — where he and his wife and kids live in a Trump National Golf Club gated community — in 2021.
Eric has continued to stay in the public eye, often via appearances on conservative TV networks. Wife Lara Trump regularly made appearances on Fox News as an official contributor before parting ways with the network in November 2022 because her father-in-law launched his 2024 presidential campaign.

Tiffany Trump — former President Donald Trump's youngest daughter, who's his only child with second wife Marla Maples — was busy graduating from the University of Pennsylvania and applying to law schools in 2016 while her father was running for president. The year of his inauguration, 2017, she enrolled in law school at Georgetown University; she graduated in 2020. Amid her studies, Tiffany made time to campaign for her father in both in 2016 — she spoke at the 2016 Republican National Convention — and 2020.
At the end of her father's term in January 2021, she revealed some big personal news: Michael Boulos, a billionaire's heir, proposed to her at the White House.

Tiffany Trump married Michael Boulos in November 2022 after four years together and a White House engagement. (Fun fact: She met Michael while spending time in Greece with her friend Lindsay Lohan!) It's unclear if she'll be active in her father's 2024 presidential campaign.

Malia Obama is the oldest child of former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama. Malia, who was born on the Fourth of July in 1998, was 10 when her dad became the 44th president of the United States.

Malia Obama graduated from Harvard in 2021 and has been working to establish herself in the entertainment industry. During her undergrad years, she interned on the set of HBO's "Girls" and at the Weinstein Company. More recently, she worked as a writer on the Amazon Prime series "Swarm" and on a short film for actor Donald Glover in 2023.

Sasha Obama lived a relatively normal high school life — at 15, she got a summer job like many kids her age — working at the takeout window of Massachusetts seafood restaurant Nancy's in Martha's Vineyard. But one thing set her apart from the rest of the employees: She was flanked by Secret Service agents at all times.
After high school, she attended the University of Michigan as a freshman before transferring to the University of Southern California. She graduated in May 2023. Since then, she's remained in Los Angeles where she reportedly lives with big sister Malia Obama.

Barbara Pierce Bush — who was named after her grandmother, former first lady Barbara Bush — was born one minute ahead of twin sister Jenna Bush in 1981, technically making her the oldest of George W. Bush and Laura Bush's twins. Grandfather George H. W. Bush was elected the 41st president when she was 8. She was 18 when her father was voted into office in 2000.

During father George W. Bush's presidency, Barbara Bush attended Yale University. She's gone on to do philanthropic work including co-founding and serving as the president of a public health nonprofit, Global Health Corps. She's also opted to step into the political arena, appearing in a 2011 video for the Human Rights Campaign advocating for gay marriage in New York.
Barbara and twin sister Jenna Bush Hager penned a book together, "Sisters First: Stories from Our Wild and Wonderful Life," that was released in 2017. Barbara married screenwriter Craig Coyne in 2018 in an intimate ceremony at the Bush family compound in Kennebunkport, Maine, so that her paternal grandfather, who was in bad health, could attend. The couple then hosted a bigger wedding in Texas in 2019 and welcomed their first child, daughter Cora, in 2021.

Jenna Bush, the younger Barbara Bush's twin, was also 18 when her father, George W. Bush, was elected the 43rd president of the United States.

Jenna Bush, who now goes by her married name, Jenna Bush Hager, was known as the wild twin during her father's presidency. She enrolled at the University of Texas at Austin while he was in office and was charged with two misdemeanors in 2001 — one for possession of alcohol under the age of 21 and the other for using a fake ID. But Jenna's crazy days are far behind her now! She married Henry Chase Hager in 2008 and has since welcomed two daughters and a son — Margaret Laura, whom they call Mila, was born in 2013; Poppy was born in 2015; and Henry was born in 2019.
Aside from being a published author, Jenna has worked as a teacher's aide and as an editor-at-large for Southern Living magazine. In November 2018, she got to make a childhood dream come true when she performed on Broadway in the musical "Chicago" for one night.
These days, she's best known as a host on the "Today" show. She replaced Kathie Lee Gifford to host alongside Hoda Kotb in 2019.

Chelsea Clinton was 12 when her dad, Bill Clinton, won the 1992 presidential election. The life of a politician's daughter was all she ever knew, since she was born during Bill's first term as governor of Arkansas.

Chelsea Clinton spent the rest of her teenage years in the spotlight as her father served as president from 1993 until 2001. After high school, she enrolled at Stanford University, where she majored in history, then earned advanced degrees at the University of Oxford and Columbia University before serving as an assistant vice provost at New York University. Chelsea wed investment banker Marc Mezvinsky in 2010. The two share daughter Charlotte, born in 2014; son Aidan, born in 2016; and son Jasper, born in 2019.
Chelsea has held a wide array of jobs over the years, ranging from working at consulting firm McKinsey & Company to serving as a correspondent on NBC to penning books for kids including "It's Your World: Get Informed, Get Inspired and Get Going!" (geared toward middle school students) and "She Persisted" (a children's book that later became a bestseller). She also worked hard on mom Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign in 2016. More recently, Chelsea launched the podcast "In Fact with Chelsea Clinton" in 2021.

George W. Bush — the eldest child of George H.W. Bush and Barbara Bush — was already 42 and working on his own career in politics by the time his dad was elected president in 1988. He had attended Yale, went to Harvard Business School and served in the Texas Air National Guard. The younger George married Laura Welch in 1977 and welcomed twin daughters, Barbara and Jenna, in 1981.

After George H.W. Bush left the White House in 1993, son George W. Bush's career in politics truly got started. He became the governor of Texas in 1995 and served until 2000, which is when he ran for president. He won the election, beating Al Gore, and served two terms before returning to Texas.
Since holding the country's highest office, George has penned a memoir, "Decision Points," which was published in 2010, and started painting as a hobby. He later collected some of his paintings of veterans and assembled them into his 2017 book, "Portraits of Courage," donating proceeds to the George W. Bush Presidential Center. He's also now a proud grandfather of four.

Jeb Bush was 35 when his father, George H.W. Bush, was elected president and had already attended the University of Texas at Austin, married Columba Garnica Gallo in 1974 and welcomed three children: son George Prescott, born in 1976; daughter Noelle, born in 1977; and son Jeb Jr., born in 1983. He started his political career in the mist of volunteering for his father's presidential campaigns and, after relocating his family to Florida, got involved in politics in the mid-'80s ahead of his dad's big win.

Jeb Bush became governor of Florida in 1998 and made history as the state's first Republican governor to serve two terms. He campaigned ahead of the 2016 presidential election, vying for the Republican party's nomination, but ultimately lost out to Donald Trump. He's now co-chair of the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy, which he heads with sister Dorothy Bush Koch. Jeb is also the founder and chair of ExcelinEd, an organization focused on education reform.

Neil Bush was 33 when George H.W. Bush became president. He married Sharon Smith in 1980 and they had three kids: daughter Lauren, born in 1984; son Pierce, born in 1986; and daughter Ashley, born in 1989.

After his father's presidency ended in 1993, Neil Bush continued to work as a businessman in Texas. After dealing with son Pierce's learning difficulties, Neil co-founded the educational software business Ignite! Learning to help kids learn via different mediums. Neil's also advocated against over-medicating children, in particularly taking a stand against Ritalin and other meds prescribed to children with ADHD. Neil has also worked as a consultant for various businesses and served as chairman of the philanthropic group Points of Light, which attempts to increase volunteerism all over the world.
Neil and wife Sharon divorced in 2003. He remarried a year later, tying the knot with Maria Andrews in 2004. More recently, Neil's son, Pierce, tried his hand at the family business, running for the U.S. House of Representatives in 2020, though lost his election in Texas's 22nd district.

Marvin Bush is George H.W. Bush and Barbara Bush's youngest son. He was 32 when his dad won the 1988 presidential election and had already graduated from the University of Virginia, married Margaret Conway and welcomed his first child via adoption, daughter Marshall. They adopted their second child, son Charles, in 1989 during the elder Bush's presidency.

Marvin Bush has largely stayed out of politics. The businessman has been director of HCC Insurance Holdings and served on the board of directors of Securacom, a security company. He made headlines during the 2016 presidential election for openly supporting Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson despite coming from a Republican family.

Dorothy Bush — the youngest child of George H.W. Bush and Barbara Bush — was 29 when her father was inaugurated. Prior to that, she'd attended Boston College, graduating in 1982, and married first husband William Heekin LeBlond that same year. The two share children Samuel, born in 1984, and Nancy, born in 1986. They split in 1990 during her father's presidency. Dorothy remarried during her time as first daughter, exchanging vows with Robert P. Koch in 1992.

After George H.W. Bush left office, Dorothy Bush Koch welcomed two more kids with second husband Robert Koch. The couple added son Robert in 1993 and daughter Georgia three years later in 1996. Since her dad left office, Dorothy has worked to commemorate his legacy, penning "My Father, My President: A Personal Account of the Life of George H. W. Bush" in 2006. She also sponsored the commission of a ship named after her father, the USS George H.W. Bush, in 2009. Dorothy currently works as an event organizer for nonprofits, serves as the co-chair of the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy with brother Jeb Bush, and lives in Bethesda, Maryland.
